07-AUGUST-2007 ABDEL-LATEEF ABU-TAHOON 75 YEARS LCS L3-4 AND L4-5.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 25-July-2007
complaining of LBP for 10 months with bilateral
sciatica, more the right. He is using the walker
for 2 months.
MRI of the lumbar spine performed 23-July-2007
showing LCS L3-4 and L4-5.
On examination: shuffling gait, SLRS right 30
degrees and 40 degrees in the left. The
dorsiflexion was 3/5 and planterflexion 4/5 both
feet. He had severe OA both knees with flexion
rigidity 150/180 degrees when trying to make the
legs straight.
Decompressive laminectomy of L3-4 and L4-5
levels with foraminotomy of L4 and L5 roots both
sides.
Smooth postoperative recovery. Some improvement
of the power of both feet.
Comments
The patient using walker for more than 2
months before surgery. The age and the protracted preoperative
course ply a negative role in the final outcome.

its sensor gives feed back about the localization.
