EXTRUDED DISC C6-7 WITH LEFT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 02-April-2018
complaining of neck pain for 1 month with left
upper limb pain with numbness of
the left hand. The patient performed MRI
cervical spine 28-January-2018 showing extruded
disc C6-7 with left foraminal occlusion.
On examination; the patient has severe pain when
turning the head to left side, and up. There is weak extension of the
left hand 4/5
and left triceps 3/5.
The patient was sent for investigation and MRI
cervical spine performed 02-April-2018 showing
the same extrusion. Lab
investigations and dynamic studies were normal.
Discectomy C6-7 until the dura was seen at both
sides. ON PLUS (EOS) Cervical
bladed cage 13x15 H7 with IN'OSS 2x0.5 ml inserted to C6-7 level. Routine closure of the
wound.
Smooth postoperative
recovery. The power of the left upper limb
normalized and the radicular pain disappeared. He was sent to the ward.
Comments
The patient has an extruded disc
which is not subsiding. Surgical decompression is the only
solution.
