SEVERE EXTRADURAL COMPRESSION AT D11-12 WITH GRANULOMATOUS LIGAMENTUM FLAVUM
HYPERTROPHY.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 24-June-2003 with
inability to walk in wheelchair for 2
months with micturition and defecation problems.
MRI lumbar spine showing severe stenosis of
D11-12 with malacia of the spinal cord due to
compression. Paraplegia and para-aneasthesia
below D11 level. He was operated 5 years ago for
extruded disc L4-5. He is a known hypertensive
in treatment.
Decompressive laminectomy of
the D11 and D12 with the granuloma adherent to
the dura. It was needed to dissect sharply to
avoid dural tear. After that the dura became lax
and free. Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
He was sent to the ward.
FOLLOW UP
The patient
did not show up.

It will be interesting to follow the case, t see
the improvement process.
