Comments
This procedure is minimal and no need for
more minimal surgeries for that.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic
21-April-2003 complaining of numbness of the
right hand awakening her during sleep for 3
years. She has neck pain for 1 year with right
shoulder pain.
On examination: the patient has neck pain when
turning the face to the left and up. There is
weak grip, extension right hand and right
triceps muscle. Allen test positive right side.
The patient given medication and sent for
investigations: MRI cervical spine done
03-May-2003 showing bulge C5-6, C6-7. ECS
demonstrated severe compression of the right
median nerve at the wrist level.
Under I/V block right upper limb,
right carpal tunnel release was performed. Routine closure of
the wound
She was sent to the ward and
after 1 hour to home.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 19-May-2003 with
clean wound with no more numbness.
