Cervical disc not recurring.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 12-May-2002
complaining of right shoulder and right scapular
with neck pain for 1 year. The pain is related
with neck movement.
On examination: The patient has neck pain and
pain when moving it to right and down with weak
extensors both hands 3/5 and right triceps
muscle. There is weak right quadriceps muscle
4/5.
The patient was sent for
investigation. MRI cervical spine done
02-June-2002 showing extruded disc C6-7 with
right foraminal occlusion with spinal cord
compression. She was advised to undergo surgery for the
cervical disc.
Through anterior approach,
discectomy of C6-7 was used, using the C-arm and
the extruded disc was removed, until the dura
was seen at the entire posterior border of the
disc cavity. Smooth postoperative recovery.
The pain in the right upper limb disappeared and
neurologically she is free.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 20-June-2002 with
clean wound and no sensory nor motor deficit.
Skyra MRI with all clinical applications in the run since 28-Novemeber-2013.
Inomed Riechert-Mundinger System, with three point
fixation is the most accurate system in the market. The microdrive and
its sensor gives feed back about the localization.
