AHAMD 35 YEARS EXTRUDED DISC C6-7 RIGHT SIDE.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the
clinic 01-July-2004 complaining of neck pain
for 2 months. The last week got right upper
limb pain. 2 years ago she was operated for PCD
C5-6 with left upper limb pain. Fusion of C5-6
was done. Not diabetic nor hypertensive.
On examination, the patient
in agonizing pain, having neck pain when turning
the head to all directions. There is severe weak
grip and extension right hand 3/5 and right
triceps muscle 3/5. There is hypalgesia of the
ulnar distribution right hand.
The patient sent for
investigations and MRI cervical spine done
02-July-2004 showing extruded disc C6-7 with
occlusion right side.
Using the C-arm, the level of
C6-7 was identified and discectomy of C6-7 was
performed and the extruded pieces in the right
side were removed until the dura was seen at the
bottom of the removed disc cavity. Routine closure
of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. The power of the
right upper limb dramatically improved.
FOLLOW UP
The patient
came to the clinic 14-July-2004 with clean wound
and neurologically free.
Comments
The recurrence rate
in cervical disc surgery is zero. Another disc
can cause de novo extrusion.

fixation is the most accurate system in the market. The microdrive and
its sensor gives feed back about the localization.
