The patient came from
Bahrain to the
clinic 08-January-2006 complaining of severe severe neck pain for
one month with left shoulder pain and numbness of the left hand. On
examination, she had severe weak grip and extension left hand with
weak left triceps muscle with limitation of neck movement to most
directions.
The patient was sent to MRI cervical spine the
same day and a huge extrusion C6-7 disc with migration to the left
foramen was seen.
The patient was operated and through small
incision, anterior approach was applied. After discectomy C6-7, the
PLL was removed from the medial part and the extrusion was removed
in several big pieces. The PLL was removed far lateral to the left
and check of the free foramen was reassured.
Prompt postoperative recovery with normalization
of the power of the left upper limb. |
