ABU-AZZAM 70 YEARS HUGE ICH RIGHT CEREBRAL HEMISPHERE WITH IVH
DUE TO HYPERTENSIVE ENCEPHALOPATHY AND DIABETES MELLITUS- IN
VENTILATOR
The patient suddenly lost consciousness at the morning and brought to ICU and put in ventilator. He is a known diabetic with IHD. The relatives denying that he had had hypertension. CT-scan showed massive ICH and IVH occupying one half of the right hemisphere and conning signs taking place. After discussion with relatives they decided to operate him and to perform evacuation of the haematoma was done and ventricular drainage was inserted. The conning signs disappeared, but tracheostomy was performed the 4th postoperative day and until now today 20-May-2005 still vegetative and with stable vital signs with venturi 35% intermittently in use.
