SEVERE LCS L2-3.3-4 AND L4-5 WITH FLAIL BOTH FEET.
The patient came to the clinic complaining of LBP with bilateral
sciatica for several years with intermittent claudication and
inability to walk for several months. The patient condition is
deteriorating and on examination the patient has complete flail
right foot and almost flail left foot with loss of sensation of the
feet and severe oedema of both lower limbs.
The patient underwent
surgery for cervical canal stenosis 10 years ago and he recovered
from that. He is a known hypertensive. MRI of the lumbar spine
requested and performed showing severe LCS L2-3.3-4 and L4-5
Decompressive laminectomy of the L2-3-4-5 laminae was performed
and foraminotomy of both L5 roots at maximum compression was
achieved. Smooth postoperative recovery.
