06-JANUARY-2005 AYSHE HUSSEIN SAIF 57 YEARS LCS L4-5 WITH RIGHT FORAMINAL
OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 01-January-2005 complaining of LBP
for 18 months with right sciatica for 2 months with numbness of the
right foot. MRI lumbar spine performed showing severe lumbar canal
stenosis L4-5 with right lateral recess syndrome.
On examination: the patient is limping with scoliotic stance with
right sciatica and SLRS 45 degrees right side with pain. There is
weak dorsiflexion right foot 4/5 with hypalgesia right L5 and S1
territories.
Decompressive laminectomy
L4-5 with bilateral foraminotomy both L5 roots
and right S1 root. The patient was put in
Reverse Trendelenburg position with Valsalva
maneuver and hyperventilation. No CSF leak.
Routine closure of the wound.

Smooth postoperative recovery.
Follow Up
The patient did not show up on the clinic.
Comments
The earlier the surgical intervention, the
better the outcome.
