FRACTURE DISLOCATION C6-7 WITH LOCKED FACET RIGHT SIDE.
Anamnesis
The patient a Saudi citizen, came to the clinic
07-August-2002
telling that he suffered RTA 45 days ago with
loc for less than hour with multiple contusions
with neck and left upper limb pain and numbness
right median distribution. MRI done 06-August-2002
and other investigations showing fracture
dislocation C6-7.
On examination: The patient in collar with weak
extensors right hand and right triceps -4/5 with
hints of myelopathic syndrome.
Anterior approach. The C6-7 level identified
using the C-arm. Discectomy C6-7 and trail to
reduce the dislocation. Using Scientx 2 level
plate with four screws, fusion of C6-7 was
achieved.
Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of the right upper limb improved.
He was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 15-August-2002
with clean wound and full power of the left foot
with normal sensation.
Comments
The fracture is unstable one, requiring
internal reduction and fixation.
