The patient a lawyer came to the
clinic 16-January 2006 complaining of agonizing left sciatica with
severe weak planter and dorsiflexion left foot for one week. MRI
performed the same day showed the above mentioned diagnosis.
The patient was operated: decompression of L4-5
with bilateral foraminotomy both L5 roots after inspection of the
contained disc L4-5. Inspection of the L5-S1 disc revealed an
extrusion with downward migration to the left S1 root. The
extrusion was removed and minimal cleaning of the disc space was
performed from the left side.
Prompt postoperative recovery of the power of the
left foot. |
