EXTRUDED DISC C5-6, 6-7 MORE TO THE RIGHT.
Anamnesis
The patient the head of operative nursing staff
of Shmaisani hospital start to complain of neck
pain and right shoulder and upper limb with
numbness of the index finger right hand for 2
weeks with agonizing pain. MRI of the cervical
spine performed showing extruded disc C4-5, 5-6
more to the right. He is a known diabetic under
treatment.
On examination there is pain when turning the
head to all directions with weak grip, extension
right hand and right triceps muscle.
Through anterior approach, the
level of C5-6 was identified using the C-arm.
Discectomy of C5-6 with osteophytectomy until the
dura was seen relax at the bottom of the removed
disc cavity. The same was done for C6-7. Routine closure of
the wound
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The radicular pain disappeared and the motor power
regained. He was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic several times and
he got report 13-April-2003 for paramedical
reasons.
