POST-TRAUMATIC EXTRUDED DISC C5-6 MORE TO RIGHT.
Anamnesis
The patient after RTA 15-January-2003 got neck
pain and right shoulder and upper limb with weak
right upper limb.
On examination there is pain when turning the
head to all directions with weak grip, extension
right hand and right triceps muscle.
The patient sent for investigations and MRI
cervical spine showed huge extruded disc C5-6
more to the right.
Through anterior approach, the
level of C5-6 was identified using the C-arm.
Discectomy of C5-6 with osteophytectomy until the
dura was seen relax at the bottom of the removed
disc cavity. Routine closure of
the wound
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The radicular pain disappeared and the motor power
regained. She was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 29-January-2003
with full power without sensory deficit.
