YEARS RTA UNSTABLE FRACTURE L4 AND STABLE D12 WITH HEMOTHORAX LEFT SIDE.
Anamnesis
The patient admitted to Shmaisani hospital
05-October-2003 after RTA 02-October-2003 with
LBP and right hemothorax with under-water-seal.
CT-scan performed in another hospital showing
stable fracture D12 and unstable fracture L4
with fragments of bone in the canal.
On examination: the patient with GCS 15/15 and
neurologically free.
Skeletonization of L5,4,3,2
with preservation of the interspinous ligament.
Using Harrington rods, distraction and fusion
done between L5 and L2 aided with
sublaminar wires at L3. Routine closure of the wound.
FOLLOW UP
The patient
came to the clinic 22-October-2003 with clean wound
and no motor, nor sensory deficit . SLRS was 30
degrees without pain. Check CT-scan and LSS X-ray
done today showing acceptable reduction and good
alignment.
The patient
then came 01-November-2003 complaining of pain in
the anal region right side with numbness ulnar
division left hand . He was sent for investigations
and given medications. He came 30-November-2003
telling that the complains disappeared.
Comments
Harrington rods with sublaminar wires are
temporary measures and they usually removed
after 8-12 months.
Skyra MRI with all clinical applications in the run since 28-Novemeber-2013.
Inomed Riechert-Mundinger System, with three point
fixation is the most accurate system in the market. The microdrive and
its sensor gives feed back about the localization.
