Anamnesis
The patient came 31-January-2004 complaining of LBP for 2 months with right
sciatica for 1 month. She was bedridden the last 18 days. MRI
performed 12-January-2004 showed huge extrusion with right
downward migration at the level of L4-5. She was limping with
exaggerated scoliotic stance with almost drop right foot. SLRS
right side was 45 degrees with shooting pain.
The patient
underwent right L4-5 hemiflavotomy with foraminotomy of the
right L5 root. The extrusion was removed from under the axilla.
Meticulous cleaning of the disc space was performed and root became
free. Routine closure of the wound.
Improvement of the power and the patient was discharged the next
day.
FOLLOW UP
The patient came to the clinic 18-February-2004
with clean wound and SLRS 50 degrees right side
with pain and the dorsiflexion right foot 4/5.
She came 09-January-2005 telling that the last 3
weeks got right hip pain with no neurologic
deficit with SLRS was 87 degrees right side
without pain.
Comments
The estimated postoperative recurrence is still
ranking around 7%, because the disc space is
still relatively not shallow.

its sensor gives feed back about the localization.
