YEARS EXTRUDED DISC C5-6 RIGHT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came
to the clinic 26-February-2002 complaining of
severe neck pain with right upper limb for 6
weeks. MRI cervical spine done recently showing
severe extruded disc C5-6 with right foraminal
occlusion.
On examination: The patient is in agonizing pain
with painful rotation of the neck to all
directions. There is weak grip and extension
right hand 3/5 and right triceps muscle 4/5 and
numbness of the right median distribution.
Through anterior approach, discectomy of C5-6
with removal of the extrusion until the dura was
seen transparent at the posterior area of the
cleaned disc cavity. Routine
closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. The power of the
right upper limb dramatically improved and he was
sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient the came to the clinic 08-March-2002
with clean wound and no pain in the neck or the
right upper limb with full power of the right
upper limb.
