HUGE EXTRUDED DISC C5-6 WITH FAR LATERAL LEFT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 26-April-2023
complaining of neck pain for 5 days with left
upper limb pain and numbness left hand. MRI bad
quality done at Hamza hospital showing as be
extruded disc C4-5 with mild stenosis and soft
extrusion left foraminal.
On examination, the patient has weak
flexion and extension left hand 4/5 and left
triceps muscle 4/5. The patient was treated
conservatively.
The patient then came 08-May-2023 with agonizing
pain with more deterioration of her condition
and was sent for investigations and MRI
cervical spine showed huge extruded disc C5-6
with huge left foraminal extension. The patient
was advised for surgery.
Using the C-arm. the C5-6 level was identified
and discectomy of C5-6 was performed and the
extrusion was removed, until the dura was seen
at the entire bottom of the removed disc cavity.
Stryker Solis cage 6x12x15 mm dimensions was applied.
Routine closure of the wound. Smooth
postoperative recovery. The power of the left upper
limb improved. She was sent to the ward.

Comments
Recurrence in cervical discectomy is
zero.
