13 YEARS PROGRESSIVE HYDROCEPHALUS DUE TO AQUADUCTAL STENOSIS.
Comments
When hydrocephalus reach a very large
dimensions, it is unlikely to get normal appearance after
insertion of the shunt.
The aim of surgery is to arrest the
surges of increased waves of high intracranial pressure.
Anamnesis
The patient a Yemeni child came to the
clinic 23-February-2003 complaining of
progressing severe headache associated with
blurred vision and nausea the last 6 months. MRI
done recently showing severe hydrocephalus
supratentorial due to aquaductal stenosis.
On examination: the patient aside of his
complains is neurologically free.
PS Medical delta 1.5 level
performance VPS was inserted to the right lateral
ventricle. Routine closure of
the wounds
Smooth postoperative recovery.
He was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 30-October-2004
not complaining with recent MRI performed
28-October-2004 showing the hydrocephalus the
same.
