The patient came to the clinic 20-May-2006 complaining of
LBP for 15 years with left sciatica for 2 months down to
the lateral malliolus with positive cough sign. The condition
deteriorating. MRI performed 16-May-2006 showing huge extrusion of
L4-5 with left downward migration. On examination: SLRS was 70
degrees in the left with almost drop left foot. She was
advised to undergo surgery and given pain-killers.
Left L4-5 hemiflavotomy with left L5 root foraminotomy was done
and the extruded disc was removed in one piece from lateral the
axilla. Minimal cleaning of the disc space was applied.
Routine closure of the wound. Smooth postoperative neurological
recovery. |
