RTA DEPRESSED FRACTURE LEFT TEMPORAL BONE.
Anamnesis
The patient was admitted to Queen Zain hospital
15-January-2003, fully conscious with
lacerations, but CT-scan performed to him
showing depressed fracture left temporal bone.
Otherwise neurologically free.
On examination: the patient is neurologically
free.
Linear incision in the left
temporal area and stripping the muscle apart. The
upper edge of the depressed fracture identified.
Elevation of the depressed bone. Routine closure of
the wound
Smooth postoperative recovery. He was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient the next day do not remember that
surgery was done to him yesterday. Discharged from there with clean
wound with no sensory, nor motor deficit.
Comments
The depressed fracture is a major one,
that ignoring it will cause several problems in the future,
among them epileptic attacks.
