EXTRUDED DISC D11-12 MORE TO THE LEFT.
Anamnesis
The patient came
to the clinic 15-May-2013 complaining of
numbness both legs all toes for 23 days.
MRI lumbar spine done 14-May-2013, showing
extruded disc D11-12 with severe compression of
the spinal cord more from the left with malacia
of the spinal cord.
On examination: The patient has
exaggerated scoliotic stance. SLRS was 60
degrees right side with tightness. Numbness all
toe both feet. Weak dorsiflexion both feet 4/5.
Using C-arm the level of
D11-12 was identified. Laminectomy of D11 and
upper third of D12. The extruded disc D11-12 was
reached from the left and left sided cleaning of
D11-12 disc space was achieved.
Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of both feet became normal.
Comments
The patient despite the fact that he is
neurologically acceptable, but the extrusion is
compressing the spinal cord with malacia.
Surgery is recommended to prevent possible
deterioration.
