PCD C3-4 HUGE CENTRAL MORE TO THE RIGHT.
Anamnesis
The patient was operated by me
02-October-2010
for PCD C4-5 and C5-6. The patient then came
several times with other complains and the last
visit was 02-May-2015, telling that the last 2
months complaining of neck and right upper limb
pain. He was treated for right Tennis elbow
without benefit.
On examination; the patient has neck pain when
turning the head to both sides, down and more
pain when looking up. There is hypalgesia C4,5,6
and C7 territories right upper limb with weak
extension right hand and both triceps muscles.
The patient was sent for investigations and the
MRI cervical spine performed 03-May-2015 showing
huge extruded disc C3-4 with central more to the
right location. Cervical X-ray showed good
alignment of the fused C4-5-6.
Using the C-arm, the C3-4 level was
identified. The old incision was used and
discectomy of C3-4 was achieved until the dura
was seen all over. A 5x11x14 mm ACDF cornerstone
cage with Nanostim H A paste was
inserted to the disc cavity.
Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. The power of the
right upper limb became better.
Comments
The patient was operated 5 years ago for
PCD C4-5, 5-6. The stress at C3-4 became more, that it could
promote for the extrusion.
