The patient came to the clinic 30-May-2006 complaining of
LBP for 18 months with right sciatica for one month. MRI performed
31-May-2006 showing very huge extrusion of
L4-5 with right downward migration. On examination: SLRS was 40
degrees in the right and 65 degrees in the left with weak
dorsiflexion both feet more the right. He was
advised to undergo surgery and given pain-killers.
Bilateral L4-5 flavotomy with right L5 root foraminotomy was done
and the extruded disc was removed in one piece from above the
axilla in several huge pieces. Minimal cleaning of the disc space was applied
lateral to the axilla from the right.
Routine closure of the wound. Smooth postoperative neurological
recovery. |
