RTA 11-FEBRUARY-2002 DEPRESSED COMPOUND FRACTURE FRONTAL BONE RIGHT SIDE
Anamnesis
The patient suffered RTA 11-Februay-2002 in
ventilator, then transferred from Al-Bashir
hospital to Al-Hayat hospital 12-February-2002 in
ventilator.
On examination: The patient is in ventilator
with GCS 3/15, but the pupil reflexes are
reactive and the brain stem reflexes present.
CT-scan performed showing compound depressed
fracture frontal bone with cut wound and
extradural hematoma.
The existing wound was widened
and the depressed fracture was manipulated and
reformed to eliminate depression and remove the
extradural hematoma. The wound was refreshed and
closed.
The patient was kept in
ventilator and he was weaned the next postoperative
day and kept in the ward until he became fully
conscious with no sensory or motor deficits. He was
talking and calculating
Anamnesis
The patient then came to the clinic
28-April-2002 with MRI performed 22-April -2003
which was normal. He was neurologically free.
The patient then came 14-October-2011 with
history of hallucinations without convulsions
and sent to psychiatric consultation.
Comments
The trauma and the contusion with
compound fracture must be treated accordingly.
The event taking place 9 years after
accident is physically not related to the trauma.
