EXTRUDED DISC C6-7 WITH LEFT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 01-September-2004
telling that she had 5 episodes of pain left
side of the body, more during sleep with
secondary generalization. The patient is under
treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma since 1996,
receiving vincrestine and cortisone.
On examination: the patient is pale,
Romberg-stable, normal fundoscopy, but having
neck pain and left upper limb pain with left
sided hemihypalgesia and weak all muscles left
upper limb. The patient was admitted to the
hospital 09-October-2004 for thorough
investigations and MRI of the cervical spine
showed extruded disc C6-7 with left foraminal
occlusion.
Though anterior approach, the level of C6-7 was
identified with C-arm. Discectomy of C6-7 was
performed until the dura was seen at the depth
of the disc space and special attention was paid
for the right side.
Smooth postoperative recovery and the patient
was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 03-November-2004
with clean wound and normal power of the left
upper limb.
Comments
The patient has multiple problems, among then
the extruded cervical disc, surgical
intervention will ad benefit to the patient.
