Most of the site will reflect the ongoing surgical activity of Prof. Munir Elias MD., PhD. with brief slides and weekly activity. For reference to the academic and theoretical part, you are welcome to visit neurosurgery.tv
The patient was seen by me 2002 and she was advised to undergo surgery for her extruded disc L4-5 with drop right foot. The patient refused the operation, and she suffered all the time, spending her time between the hospitals. She then came three days ago with agonizing pain and almost drop right foot with the same extrusion in place. Pain-killers became without effect. Scoliotic stance and inability to be examined in the supine position were dramatic notes. The patient underwent surgery and the power became full. This fact stand against the common rules, that the length of time with nerve compression decrease the percent of recovery. She is mostly an exception.
