A young man with right sciatica  and intermittent claudication both feet for several months was operated and laminectomy L5 with bilateral flavotomy of L4-5 and L5-S1 was performed. Foraminotomy of right S1 root fro the extruded disc was performed and discectomy L5-S1 was performed with release of all compressice elements upon the right S1 root. The patient showed prompt immediate recovery of his neurologicl deficits.
