Comments
The extrude disc in cervical region
cannot recur, because all the disc material including the
extrusion is removed.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic with agonizing
neck and right upper limb pain with numbness
right median distribution. There is less LBP
with left sciatica with MRI lumbar spine
performed 22-March-2021 showing small extrusion
L5-S1 left side. The patient is a known diabetic
under treatment for 8 years.
On examination: The patient in agonizing pain,
not limping with normal stance. SLRS was 80 degrees with pain
left side. There is no sensory or motor deficit
both feet. The patient has pain when turning the
head to both sides more to the left and
downward. There is weak grip, extension right
hand 4/5 and right triceps muscle 4/5.
The patient was sent for
investigations and MRI cervical spine showed
extruded disc C5-6 with right foraminal
occlusion and bulge C6-7.
Through anterior approach,
the level of C5-6 was identified and discectomy
of C5-6 was performed and the piece compressing
the right side extradurally was removed.
EOS
OSImplant 6x13x10 mm dimensions was applied. Routine closure of the
wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of the right upper limb improved.
He was sent to the ward.
