The patient after trauma 2 months
ago started to complain of LBP with numbness of the right lower
limb. On examination, she had weak dorsi and planterflexion right
foot. She had scoliotic deformity of the spine and hypalgesia below
S1 root right side. She had hair in the back with small dimple at
the coccygeal region. MRI performed showing tethered cord. The
patient was operated and the sacrum was defective of bone with the
dura under the muscles. It was opened and the hypertrophied
arachnoid was opened. All the roots attached to the tethered band
were released and electrical studies were performed. The end of the
tethering band was yellow and showed no neural conductivity. It was
detached at the dural ending after what the spinal cord jumped
upward. The hypertrophied arachnoid was closed and the dura also.
