WIDE BASED EXTRUDED DISC L4-5 MORE TO THE RIGHT.
Anamnesis
The patient came to clinic 22-Sptember-2014
complaining of LBP with right sciatica for 3
years with exacerbation last 2 months. MRI
lumbar spine done 20-September-2014 showing wide
based extrusion L4-5 more to the right, which in
comparison to another MRI performed
10-September-2011 became bigger.
On examination; the patient is limping with
exaggerated scoliotic stance. SLRS 10 degrees
with pain in the right. There is weak dorsi and
planterflexion right foot -3/5.
Endoscopic discectomy L4-5 done from the right
side using MICRODISCXS system. The right L5 root
became lax and the disc space free of any loose
fragments.
Routine closure of
the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. The power of the
right foot became normal.
Comments
The patient still has an estimated
postoperative recurrence around 7%, because the disc space
is still not completely shallow.
