EXTRUDED DISC C5-6 WITH LEFT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic
12-May-2024 with history of neck pain and
left upper limb pain and numbness of the thumb
left hand for 14 days.
On examination, the patient is in agonizing
pain, exaggerated when turning the head up, down
and to the left. There is hypalgesia of the
thumb left hand with weak grip and
extension left hand 4/5. Weak left triceps
muscle 4/5.
The patient was sent for investigations and MRI
done the same day showing huge extruded
disc C5-6 with left foraminal occlusion. The
patient was advised for conservative treatment,
then he came 18-May-2024 urging for surgery.
Using the C-arm. the C5-6 level was identified
and discectomy of C5-6 was performed and the
extrusion was removed, until the dura was seen
at the entire bottom of the removed disc cavity.
MICRON
MEDICAL 7x14x14 mm dimensions was applied.
Routine closure of the wound. Smooth
postoperative recovery. The power of the left upper
limb improved. He was sent to the ward.
