EXTRUDED DISC C6-7 WITH RIGHT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic
08-May-2016 complaining of neck and right upper
limb pain for 3 weeks with numbness all fingers
right hand, more the index and middle finger.
MRI cervical spine performed 05-May-2016 showing
extruded disc C6-7 with right foraminal
occlusion.
On examination: the patient has neck pain with
limitation to all directions. Frozen right
shoulder due to pain. Weak grip right hand -4/5,
extension 3/5 and right triceps 2/5.
Using the C-arm, the
level of C6-7 was identified and discectomy of
C6-7 was performed. Using Depuy cervical cage
CFRP 6 mm small, cervical plate one level
16 mm length with 1 cc bone graft and 4 fixed
screws 14x4 mm fusion of C6-7 was achieved. All
stages of surgery were guided with C-arm. Routine closure of the
wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. The
power of the right upper limb became normal
without radicular pain. She was sent to the ward.
Comments
There is no recurrence of cervical disk
after discectomy, because there is no more disc material
left behind.
