EXTRUDED DISC C6-7 WITH RIGHT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 20-May-2014
complaining of severe neck and right shoulder
pain for 2 weeks with numbness of the index
finger right hand and pain shooting to the right
upper limb. ECS studies done 10-May-2014 showing
mild signs of CTS. MRI cervical spine done
18-May-2014 showing huge extruded disc C6-7 with
right foraminal occlusion.
On examination; The patient has pain when
turning the head to the left and severe pain
with limitation when turning the head up and
down and bending the head to both shoulders. The
grip and fingers extension of the right hand
3/5. The right triceps -2/5. There is hypalgesia
of the II and II fingers right hand.
Using image-intensifier, the C6-7 level was
identified. Discectomy of C6-7 was done until
the dura was seen at the entire posterior border
of the bony structures of C6 and C7. Vitatech
cervical cage 6.5 mm height was inserted to the
disc space with bone graft and fusion of C6-7
was achieved with 26 mm one level miniplate with
4 screws 16x4 mm monoaxial type. All stages were
done under the guidance of C-arm. Routine
closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. The power of the
right upper limb became normal.
