DISC C6-7 WITH RIGHT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Comments
The patient has huge extrusion, which cannot be
treated conservatively. Surgical removal is the
only solution at the present time.
Recurrence rate is zero in the cervical spine.
Anamnesis
The patient came to Al-Shmaisani hospital
admitted urgently with agonizing neck pain and
pain and pareasthesia down to the index and
middle finger right hand for one month.
MRI of cervical
spine done 03-July-2002 showing huge extruded
disc C6-7 with right foraminal and upward
migration.
On examination: The patient has pain when
turning his head to all directions. There is
weak grip right hand and extensors right hand and
triceps muscle -4/5.
Using C-arm, the C6-7 level
was identified. Discectomy of C6-7 was done and
the extruded piece was removed in several
pieces. The dura was seen
Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of the right upper limb became normal.
