EXTRUDED DISC C5-6, BULGE C6-7 WITH MALACIA OF THE SPINAL CORD.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 02-October-2021
complaining of neck pain with left cephalic pain
for one year, then right upper limb
for 2 months. MRI cervical spine done
07-July-2020 showing huge extruded disc C5-6
with malacia of the spinal cord with bulge C6-7.
The patient is hypertensive and diabetic for 2
years. She underwent unknown manipulation for
the left kidney 3 years ago.
On examination, the patient in agonizing pain
and triggered with movement of the head to all
direction more up and to left with limitation.
There is weak grip, extension right hand 4/5 and
right triceps muscle 3/5.
The patient sent for investigations, which done
the next day showing huge extruded disc C5-6 and
bulge C6-7
with malacia of the spinal cord behind C5-6
level. CT-scan abdomino-pelvic showing stone
left kidney There high U.A. for what Zyloric was
started and CRP 16.87 mf/L for what Zinnat was
started 5 days before surgery.
Using the C-arm. the C5-6
level was identified and discectomy of C5-6 was
performed and the extrusion was removed from the
right side, until the dura was seen at the
entire bottom of the removed disc cavity.
EOS
OSImplant 7x13x17 mm dimensions was applied.
Inspection of the C6-7 showed that the anterior
wall was dully calcified, for what it was left
intect. Routine closure of the
wound. Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of the right upper limb improved.
She was sent to the ward.
