Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic
04-June-2003 complaining of neck pain for 2
years. Exacerbation the last 2 weeks with left
upper limb pain with numbness of the III and IV
fingers left hand. The patient is hypertensive for
8 years. The patient has right III nerve paresis
with left abducens palsy since childhood.
On examination: the patient has neck pain when
rotating the head to all direction. Weak grip
and extension left hand and left triceps muscle
4/5.
The patient was sent for investigations: MRI
done 10-June-2003 showing extruded disc C5-6 with
left foraminal occlusion.
Through anterior approach, the
disc level was identified using the C-arm and
discectomy with osteophytectomy C5-6 was performed
until the dura was seen lax at the depth of the
removed disc. Routine closure of
the wound
Smooth postoperative recovery.
She was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 25-June-2003 with
clean wound and full power of the left upper
limb.
