The extrude disc in cervical region cannot recur, because all the disc material including the extrusion is removed.

This is the 219th case using the BPRF mode with MultiGen. This procedure regained routine acceptance.  It became a usual part of the spine and peripheral nerves surgery. Click here for reference.

The patient came to the clinic 12-July-2021 with agonizing neck and left upper limb pain with numbness left median distribution. The patient was operated by me 04-March-2010 for PCD C4-5. MRI cervical spine done 18-May-2021 showing PCD C6-7 with left foraminal occlusion. There is less LBP with right sciatica. The patient is a known diabetic under treatment for 6 years. She has a lot of sensitivity panel to many drugs, for what this list of sensitivity must be respected.

On examination: The patient in agonizing pain, limping with normal stance. SLRS was 30 degrees with pain both sides. There is weak dorsiflexion right foot 4/5. The patient has pain when turning the head to all directions. There is weak grip, extension left hand -3/5 and left triceps muscle -3/5 with analgesia left median distribution. Edema of four limbs is noted because she cannot sleep for several days.

The patient was sent for investigations and MRI under G.A. performed 14-July-2021 of the cervical spine showed extruded disc C6-7 with left foraminal occlusion and bulge disc L4-5. Tendinosis of the subscapularis is noted with minimal subcoracoid and glenohumeral effusion of the left shoulder.

Through anterior approach, the level of C6-7 was identified and discectomy of C6-7 was performed and the pieces compressing the left side extradurally were removed. EOS OSImplant 6x13x10 mm dimensions was applied. Routine closure of the wound. The patient then was exposed to BPRF to the left suprascapular nerve to alleviate the pain in the frozen left shoulder.

Smooth postoperative recovery. The power of the left upper limb improved. She was sent to the ward.
