DEHISCENCE OF THE WOUND WITH PROGRESSIVE FLUIDY DISCHARGE FROM THE WOUND.
Anamnesis
The patient was operated by me
10-December-2025 for redirection of the
iliac screws.
The patient neurological status improved, but
the wound was oozing all the time and dressing
was applied 3 times a day and the dehiscence of
the wound took over the lower half of the wound.
It was planed to discharge him yesterday, but
the oozing became more aggressive. for what it
was decided to explore the wound under G.A.
The wound was opened and
revision of the wound was undertaken. The aim of
exploration was to rule out CSF leak which was
absent in the first 2 surgeries, inspection of
the artificial bone, which could be the
triggering cause of such reaction or the
residual of proton beam sequelae, which was
performed 4 years ago. The wound was opened. so
that the dura was seen and Valsalva maneuver was
done three times to check for CSF leak
which was negative. The artificial bone was
removed and debridement of the wound was done
until all the soft tissues were fresh bleeding.
Using nylon 0, the wound was closed that there
is no empty space was left behind. Water-tight closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. He was sent to the ward.
FOLLOW UP
Too early now.

The artificial bone of all brands causing
such catastrophic reaction, that I will not use it for ever.
