11-OCTOBER-2003 TAREQ ABDALLA AL-UBEIDAT
39 YEARS EXTRUDED DISC C5-6 WITH RIGHT FORAMINAL OCCLUSION.
Anamnesis
The patient a Saudi citizen came to the clinic
08-October-2003 complaining of neck pain for 15
years with exacerbation last year with right
upper limb pain with numbness right hand the
last 2 weeks. The patient is diabetic for 7
years under treatment. MRI cervical spine bad
quality done 01-October-2003 showing PCD C5-6
right side.
On examination: the patient has severe neck pain
when rotating the head to all directions. There
is weak grip, extension right hand and right
triceps muscle 3/5 with hypalgesia right median
and ulnar distribution.
The patient was sent for investigations: Cervical
MRI done 09-October-2003 showing huge extrusion C5-6 with
right foraminal occlusion and upward migration.
Discectomy with
osteophytectomy of C5-6
was done until the dura was seen along all the
posterior aspects. All fragments extruded inside
were removed. All stages of surgery were
done under C-arm control.
Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery. The power of the
right upper limb normalized. He was sent
to the ward.
FOLLOW UP
The patient
came to the clinic 20-October-2003 with clean wound
with full power of the right upper limb and
hypalgesia shrunken to the II and tip III fingers
right hand.
The patient
then came 11-April-2018 telling that he perform left
CT-release at Islamic hospital 25 days ago and
complaining of neck pain and diabetic neuropathy
both feet. He was sent for investigations and MRI
cervical spine showing fusion of C5-6 with bulge
C4-5, bulge D6-7. 7-8. 8-9 and bulge L2-3. He was
treated conservatively.
