46 YEARS HUGE EXTRUDED DISC C6-7 MORE TO THE LEFT.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 02-September-2002
complaining of neck pain for several months with
with weak and numbness left upper limb. MRI done
recently showing PCD C6-7, more to the left.
On examination: The patient neck pain with more
pain when rotating the head to all directions.
There is weak left hand flexion, extension and
the left triceps 3/5. Hypalgesia left ulnar
distribution.
Anterior approach. Using C-arm, the level of
C6-7 was identified and discectomy of C6-7 was
performed with osteophytectomy until the dura
was seen at the bottom of the removed disc
space.
Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of left upper limb improved.
She was sent to the ward.
Follow Up
The patient came to the clinic 18-September-2002
with clean wound and normal power and sensation
of the left upper limb.
Comments
The recurrence rate after cervical
discectomy is zero.
Skyra MRI with all clinical applications in the run since 28-Novemeber-2013.
Inomed Riechert-Mundinger System, with three point
fixation is the most accurate system in the market. The microdrive and
its sensor gives feed back about the localization.
