RECURRENT SUBACUTE
SUBDURAL HEMATOMA RIGHT CEREBRAL CONVEXITY.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the Emergency of Shmaisani
hospital with slight deterioration of the gait
with headache the last three days.
CT-scan done immediately, showing huge
recurrence of extradural hematoma right cerebral convexity,
over the right frontal and parietal lobes. The
patient was operated 10-October-2013 and three
control CT-scans done were acceptable. The
patient was in Baby aspirin, despite the fact he
was advised to keep out anticoagulants for at
least 8 months. He stopped them three days ago.
On examination: the patient is unable to walk
with very mild left sided hemiparesis.
In side lying position, the old burr wounds were
refreshed and insertion of external drain was
achieved. Meticulous irrigation of the subdural
hematoma until the coming out fluid was crystal
water clear. The drain was fixed to skin at 2
separate places.
Smooth postoperative
recovery. The power of left side became normal
and the patient sent to the ICU.
Comments
The patient was in anticoagulant, which mostly
was the cause of recurrence.
