The patient came to the clinic 10-May-2006 with agonizing neck pain
and left shoulder shooting pain for 1 week with numbness of the
middle finger left hand. On
examination, he had pain and limitation of neck movement when
looking down, up and to the left. He had weak grip, extension
left hand and weak left triceps muscle. He had anaesthesia of the
middle finger left hand.
The patient was sent for MRI and the
MRI showed huge extrusion of C6-7 disc to the left . The patient
was advised to undergo surgery.
Discectomy C6-7 was performed and removal of the extrusion, which
was adherent to the dura.
Dramatic postoperative recovery and the patient was discharged
the next day. |
