EXTRUDED DISC C5-6 LEFT SIDE.
Anamnesis
The patient came to the clinic 28-October-2002
complaining of neck and left upper limb pain for
2 years. The last 2 months got left shoulder
pain with numbness of the left side of the face.
On examination, the patient has neck pain when
rotating the head to all directions. There is
weak grip, extension left hand 3/5 with weak
left triceps muscle 3/5. There
is hypalgesia median and ulnar distribution left
upper limb.
The patient was sent for investigation and MRI
brain done 04-January-2003 was normal, but the cervical spine done showing huge extruded disc
C5-6 compressing the spinal cord more to the
left.
Thorough anterior approach,
the level of C5-6 was identified and meticulous
cleaning of the disc space was performed and
removal of the extruded disc and osteophytectomy was achieved until
the dura was seen lax at the bottom of the
removed disc cavity. Routine closure of the wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The patient showed improvement of the power of
his left upper limb. He was sent to the ward.
FOLLOW UP
The patient
came to the clinic 15-July-2003 with clean wound.
There is no motor or sensory deficit.
Skyra MRI with all clinical applications in the run since 28-Novemeber-2013.
