AND l4-5.
Anamnesis
The patient was came to the clinic 17-July-2002
complaining of LBP for 10 years with left
sciatica for 18 months with numbness both feet
and inability to walk more than 30 meters due to
pain.
On examination: the patient is limping with
exaggerated scoliotic
stance. SLRS was 90 degrees with pain in the
left. There is weak dorsiflexion
both feet 4/5 and
4/5 left foot.
The patient was sent for MRI lumbar spine. It
was preformed 21-July-2002
showing extruded disc L4-5 with left foraminal
compression with severe stenosis at L2-3 and
L3-4. Dynamic studies ruled out overmobility.
The level of L4-5 was
identified and laminectomy of L4 and L5
and partial of L3 was achieved. Bilateral L5 foraminotomy. Routine closure of the
wound.
Smooth postoperative recovery.
The power of both feet became normal. The patient
sent to the ward.
Comments
The patient having progressive severe
stenosis that surgical decompression is mandatory.
